Thousands of Saudis took to the streets on Monday to celebrate the country's 89th National Day, a week after an attack on one of the world's largest oil facilities. Saudis expressed confidence in their government's ability to resolve the situation and said the country would overcome the recent security challenges thanks to its resources. The September 14 attacks on Aramco's main crude oil processing facility halted 5.7 million barrels per day of Saudi Arabia's oil production, representing more than 5% of global daily crude oil output. The United States, Saudi Arabia, and Britain blame Iran for the attacks, while Tehran denies the accusation and has warned of retaliatory strikes, further escalating tensions in the region. The Iranian president said his country would offer its own rival security alliance in the Persian Gulf, where the United States is sending more troops to Saudi Arabia and leading its regional military coalition.
